Hunstman Highlights SL Systems at 2010 Annual Conference
Contact: Dawn Adair at (281) 719-4490

The versatile family of RenShape® SL 7800 resins that provides customers with easy processing and excellent, long-term durability will be featured by Huntsman Corporation at the 2010 Annual 3DSUG Conference in Santa Fe, New Mexico.  Materials in the RenShape® SL 7800 product series are designed for use on solid state SLA® platforms.  The photopolymers have long vat life and are easy to process with high throughput and good green strength.  Cured parts require minimal finishing and combine high flexural strength, tensile and impact strength.
Specific resins being highlighted at the meeting are:

  • RenShape® SL 7800 photopolymer  is a light amber-colored resin ideal for building accurate, robust models and functional parts as well as master patterns.  The resin also conforms to FDA-approved USP Class VI testing for use in medical models and prototypes.  Cured parts have impact strengths of up to 1.1 ft-lb/in with high elongation and excellent flexural strength.
  • RenShape® SL 7810 photopolymer is an opaque, white resin that yields parts with good dimensional stability, even in humid conditions.  Prototypes built with the material exhibit an ABS-like, high-gloss, fine surface finish and feature good flexural and tensile strength as well as elongation up to 20 percent.
  • RenShape® SL 7811 photopolymer produces durable white parts with a high-quality, ABS-like appearance and outstanding detail.  Cured patterns and parts exhibit a notched Izod impact strength of 0.78 – 1.10 ft-lb/in and excellent elongation.
  • RenShape® SL 7820 photopolymer is a low-viscosity, high-throughput resin  for building robust, black concept models and functional prototypes with good dimensional stability, an ABS-like, fine surface and excellent flexural and tensile strengths.
  • RenShape® SL 7870 photopolymer is a clear resin that produces ultra-durable, dimensionally stable models and prototypes with outstanding polycarbonate-like clarity and a high-quality, smooth surface finish.  The product is also suitable for building investment casting patterns and conforms to FDA USP 23 Class VI standards for use in medical modeling and prototyping.   The cured material features a notched Izod impact strength of up to 1.15 ft-lb/in and elongation up to 22 percent.
