Using 3D Lightyear™ Background Preparation File
Background Preparation File (BPF) is designed to work in the background without
refreshing the video screen; this reduces the memory, making support generation and
slicing faster. It is especially useful for large files and complex parts.

|
Adding Strength to Supports in 3D Lightyear™
Line or point supports generated with 3D FinePoint™ supports can be weak and result
in build failures. Adjusting the Separator Height can be used to add additional strength.

|
Creating a Desktop Icon to Locate and Clean 3D Lightyear™ Files
3D Lightyear™ creates numerous files in the background operations. These files are
message files, edited support files, slice files, etc. Some of them are quite small, but
can become a nuisance when searching a folder and larger files take up disk space.

Cleaning SLA Resin from Small Cavities
Note: If water is getting warm. Change water. Never run ultrasonic tank full of alcohol. (Fire
hazard.)

|
|
Finding the NIC Address or MAC Address
Left mouse click the Start button and select run...

|
Increasing Gas Laser life
Putting a UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) on a SLA250 has proven to double and in
some cases triple the life of the Helium/Cadmium laser.

Monitoring Shrink Accuracy
Build a 1 inch or 25.4 Millimeter square block 1/8 to 1/4 thick with every run of parts. This
may be cataloged with job for measuring shrink in X and Y.

Removal of Cured Residual SLA resin from Removable Steel Bracketry
Allow soak longer if needed. Try to keep water warm to hot. (change water if needed)

|
|
Removal of Cured Resin in SLA Chamber
Using the heat gun heat up the cured resin to be cleaned off
Scrape off soft cured resin with putty knife
|

|
|
Removal of Large SLA parts from Platform
Allow bottom surface to dry before post finishing. (Time may vary with type of resin)

Rotating QuickCast™ Hatch Pattern
Currently, default QuickCast™ hatching is positioned with one-third of the hatch parallel
to the recoating sweeper. This positioning can create problems with layer attachment
due to variables of resin green strength, resin viscosity, part geometry, fluid dynamics,

Sticky/Soft Parts Due to High Humidity
Some resins are prone to absorb moisture from the air. Monitor the room air and monitor the air in the SLA chamber.
